Assessement Tool Explanation

Assessment Tools

1. Multiple Intelligence and Myer's Briggs Personality Test: MI test helps teacher understand and know the different learning styles each student have. This will also help us distinguish what kind of activity will help them learn more. Myer's Briggs Personality Test is a test to distinguish our personality. It is almost like the Multiple Intelligence Test, but this test shows how a person really is inside and out. It provides us information of our characteristics when it comes to people around us, how we work, etc.  I'd rate MI test as 5 and Myer's Brigg as 4. (5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest rate)

2. Performance Task provides a measure of the target understanding. It is somewhat like a rubric, but performance task are questions that you ask as a teacher, if student was able to understand the lesson well or not very well. The task would have been either performed well by showing how much a student have accomplished or performed poorly. I'd rate this Performance task a 5 because the questions provided are easy to follow, it contains a simple answer weather the student understood or did not understand the lesson.

3. Checklist, Learning Logs, Journal Logs  are different assessments used for activities. A checklist reflects on the students understanding of whatever the lesson may be. Learning Logs and Journal Logs consist of reflections of how well the student learned, what they learned, what did they like and not like on the lesson. This can be done after an extension lesson like field trips, a video, or a project. I would rate checklist as 4, learning logs and journal logs a 5 because, I can get feedback from what the student wrote. I can use whatever they wrote as an evidence that they learned something and if not, I can use that to modify lessons.

4. Matrix & Rubrics are used to grade activities. This determines whether the student was able to answer all of the questions on a scale of 4-1, 4 being advanced, 3 proficient, 2 developing, and 1 beginning. Teachers often use rubrics for classwork, tests, quiz, or other activities that they find necessary to grade and evaluate students. I rate rubrics as 5 because it is detailed, easy to understanding and base grades on, and straight to the point.

5. Graphic Organizers are the best. I use them all the time especially when I want the students to fully understand a topic. I use it for reading, math, social studies, and science. There are many G.O's online that are available for many teachers to use. It is easy to create also. We can use G.O for our students to summarize a story, write the sequence of events, or to brainstorm. I would rate Graphic Organizers as 5, because it is accessible, it can be used for any subjects, it helps the students a lot, and it makes it easier for teachers to explain a topic when a graphic organizer is used.

6. Interviews & Conferences are often used when a teacher would like to get a one-on-one talk with their students or if a students would like to share a lesson or a thought. Interviews and conferences are often used in social studies or science, because we can have students go to someone and interview them; interviewing someone who is knowledgeable will teach the students new things and provide the student more information. Getting to know someone who has more experience will create a better experience for the student as well as the fact that they heard real stories, those will stick to them forever. Interviews and conferences will get a 5. It can be considered as an extension to a lesson, similar to a field trip.

7. Teacher Made Test & CNMI S&B Test is used to asses student whether they were able to accomplish the objectives or not. Testing students will give the teacher the feedback whether has to be taught again or if they can move on to the next lesson. Teachers who often create a test based on their lesson which are based on the Standards and Benchmarks never fail. It is easier to create when you have a guideline to follow. I rate these test a 5 because I find it easier to create one when you have an objective to follow based on your lesson.
